Lake Mission Viejo Association Board Of Directors – Call For Candidates
Applications for candidacy in the 2026 LMVA Board of Directors Elections are now OPEN. Candidates should review the following information and must submit a Candidate Declaration and Statement prior to the deadline of 5:00 p.m. on September 25, 2026. Q: When Does The Board Of Directors Election Take Place?
A: The 2026 Board of Directors election will be held October 27, 2026. A call for candidates and candidate applications will be posted to this page in early August.
Q: What Does The Board Of Directors Do?
A: The Board of Directors is the elected governing body for the Lake Mission Viejo Association. Board members serve as fiduciaries of the Association by taking action for the benefit of the Association and its members. Board members participate in meetings, make decisions, provide direction to management staff and enforce the governing documents of the Association.
Q: What Is The Time Committment To Be A Board Member?
Elected Board members serve a two-year term. The Board meets regularly once per month, with some additional meetings for committees or other business throughout the year. Currently, regular Board of Directors meetings are scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month and typically begin with an executive session meeting at 5:30 p.m followed by a regular open meeting at 7:00 p.m. Meeting days and times may be subject to change. Between meetings, committees, and other various duties, Board members should expect to spend an average of 10 to 20 hours a month on Board duties.
Q: How Does The Election Work? Who Votes In The Board Elections?
A: The LMVA Board of Directors are elected by the Lake’s District Delegates. These Delegates are appointed or elected to represent their neighborhood districts and vote on behalf of the homes in that district. Candidate statements are shared with all District Delegates for review prior to casting their votes on the day of the election.
