Fishing Lake Mission Viejo

 Current Fishing Contitions

While some members still enjoy “fishing” at the lake, regrettably we are not aware of any actual “catching” this year. The Lake is currently not being stocked; the goal is to resume stocking as soon as conditions improve. Members will be notified via the lake website, social media and entrance marquee when stocking resumes.

Restoring Lake Mission Viejo’s tradition and reputation as a freshwater fishing mecca is a priority of both the staff and board of directors, who have been working with biologists and experts to fight the golden algae bloom that is toxic to fish (but harmless to humans).  Because of the size/volume of the Lake, solutions that have worked at smaller lakes have either been unsuccessful or aren’t feasible here.

The Lake is open for fishing at 8AM every day but Christmas Day

Fishing is always free for members

Guests must be accompanied by members while visiting LMV

5 passenger Gregor and 2 passenger Tracker fishing boats are available for rent at the Boat Rental Shop
