This summer LMVA members will once again enjoy some of the best family movies ever made! Come down to Lake Mission Viejo Wednesday or Friday evenings on the dates below, for a lakeside showing of popular feature films under the stars.

To provide you with the best possible picture on LMV’s giant screen, movies will begin once it gets dark; generally between 8:15 – 8:45 pm.  Please note that movies in July will begin later due to the longer summer days.

Please bring low-backed chairs only, as a courtesy to those sitting behind you. Movies in the Moonlight are free for members to enjoy. Visit for a summary, rating and official trailer of each featured movie.

Wednesday, 7/1        SONIC THE HEDGEHOG


Based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG tells the story of the world's speediest hedgehog as he embraces his new home on Earth. In this live-action adventure comedy, Sonic and his new best friend Tom (James Marsden) team up to defend the planet from the evil genius Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) and his plans for world domination. The family-friendly film also stars TikaSumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.

Having harnessed her ever-growing power after lifting the dreadful curse of the eternal winter in Frozen (2013), the beautiful conjurer of snow and ice, Queen Elsa, now rules the peaceful kingdom of Arendelle, enjoying a happy life with her sister, Princess Anna. However, a melodious voice that only Elsa can hear keeps her awake, inviting her to the mystical enchanted forest that the sisters' father told them a long time ago. Now, unable to block the thrilling call of the secret siren, Elsa--along with Anna, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven--summons up the courage to follow the voice into the unknown, intent on finding answers in the perpetually misty realm in the woods. More and more, an inexplicable imbalance is hurting not only her kingdom but also the neighboring tribe of Northuldra. Set in an alternative-reality anytown America where magic exists, along with various fabular creatures, but all of it has long since been superseded by the efficient and ubiquitous magic of technology. Ian and older brother Barley are teenage elves whose dad died when they were young, now being raised by their mom, Laurel. On Ian’s 16th birthday, Laurel gives him a present that his late dad had entrusted to her – a wizard’s staff that endows Ian with magical powers which could bring his dad back to life. But a chaotic accident means that they lose the mystic jewel that goes on the top of the staff, and the brothers embark on a supernatural adventure quest to get it back.

Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the rest of the gang set out on a road trip with Bonnie and a new toy named Forky. The adventurous journey turns into an unexpected reunion as Woody's slight detour leads him to his long-lost friend Bo Peep from Andy’s house. As Woody and Bo discuss the old days, they soon start to realize that they're worlds apart when it comes to what they want from life as a toy.
